A man booked on two aggravated rape charges in a New Orleans case also involving former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper has posted a $400,000 bond.
26-year-old Erik Nunez posted bond Monday morning and later paid outstanding traffic fines and tickets in Jefferson Parish.
After Nunez was returned to Orleans Parish Prison, he was picked up by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for outstanding traffic warrants. All of the fines were paid by late Monday afternoon.
Sharper and Nunez each face two aggravated rape charges in new Orleans.
In a separate Los Angeles case, Sharper faces seven rape and drug counts in connection with two alleged attacks. He pleaded not guilty in that case and had been freed on $1 million bail. However, he was jailed again in Los Angeles when New Orleans police issued a warrant for his arrest.
A Los Angeles judge set a hearing for Thursday to give Louisiana prosecutors time to formally charge Sharper or for the state to seek his return.
