Ray Nagin Back On Witness Stand Friday At His Corruption Trial

Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin says he remembers a 2006 family vacation to New York but has no recollection of who paid for the trip.

He acknowledged later seeing documentation that a movie theater owner paid for the trip. He strongly denied allegations from prosecutors that the trip was a payoff for help with the theater's tax problems.

Nagin also denied that his efforts to help Home Depot open a store in a blighted New Orleans neighborhood was tied to work the retailer gave to his family-owned granite business.

Friday was Nagin's second day on the witness stand, and it has been a long day of cross-examination. The prosecution has confronted him with evidence of phone calls, meetings and checks from people who say they bribed him.
