Louisiana Lottery officials say the state has its second million-dollar winner in Powerball this year after a ticket sold in Uptown New Orleans matched five white ball numbers Wednesday night.
Kelly Spell with the Lottery says the winning ticket was sold at the Tchoup Stop at 5600 Tchoupitoulas. That store will receive a one-time selling bonus of $10,000.
Wednesday's winning numbers were 1-17-35-49-54 and the Powerball 34. The ticket that matched all six numbers was sold in California.
Spell tells 99.5 WRNO a $1 Million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Baton Rouge last month, and in the last two years there have been more than two dozen winners who received the million-dollar Powerball prize.
